Terry Van Der Mark President Terry Vandermark is the President of HealthClubSupport.com, a nationwide organization that gives health club owners and operators the opportunity to seek industry information and education in an unbiased forum. In 1992 he commenced his career with the Thomas Plummer Company and held the position of co-owner and Senior Vice President until 2006. He managed the day-to-day operations of the business, established vision, and developed products and services. Currently, through the HealthClubSupport.com, he is the Thomas Plummer Company's lead consultant and is the fitness industry's top authority in the area of developing start-up facilities. He also focuses on trouble-shooting operations in existing clubs and the development of sales systems. He has over twenty years of club management and operations experience including club ownership in three clubs. He has had numerous articles published in the industry's trade magazines and has spoken at all of the industry's top trade show education forums. In 2006 he was featured in Club Insider News Magazine's "The Best of the Best Club Business Consultants" issue. In 1994 Mr. Van Der Mark developed a software program to track data and statistics in the fitness industry with the intention to compile accurate industry information. In order to compare clubs of different sizes and locations and to create norms and standards to gauge other clubs by, a larger sample and more thorough process had to be explored. The result of this endeavor is that the IHCA tracks more independent fitness centers than any other organization and has access to data that no one else in the industry has. He founded the Independent Health Club Alliance to give health club owners and operators the opportunity to seek industry information and education in an unbiased forum. |
